A photo of a hungry girl peeping inside a classroom with an empty bowl in her hand was published in a Telugu daily recently. The heart-wrenching photo went viral on the internet after a few days. And guess what, the Hyderabad girl whose name is Mothi Divya is now a student in the same school.
The photograph clicked by Avula Srinivas was published in the Telugu newspaper Eenadu with the title 'Aakali Choopu', which in English means a 'hungry look'.
The picture was clicked outside Deval Jham Singh Government High School in Gudimalkapur, Hyderabad.
The gripping and heart-breaking photograph struck a chord with netizens and started doing rounds on the social media.
The viral photograph then got noticed by Venkat Reddy. He is the National Convenor at MV Foundation which is an NGO working for the rights of the girl child. He shared the picture on Facebook and wrote, "Why is this child not enrolled and have her right to food and right to education...it's a shame..."
But that's not all. He got in touch with his organisation and the volunteers in that area to make sure that the girl is not deprived from her right to education. Yes, the girl was enrolled as a student in the same school.

Taking it to social media, he then shared Divya's photo with her parents from the first day of her school. The little girl was wearing the school's uniform in the photo. It will leave you teary-eyed.
